Stitch&Solder This is our introductory workshop about e-wearables. After a brief introduction about the history of e-wearables and basic electronic circuits, students start sewing an electronic circuit. By lunch time every student has a complete wearable circuit. In the afternoon we advance the project to include slightly more complex electronics. We conclude with a short presentation about the top 100 e-wearables projects and the most famous e-wearables designers. This workshop is taught by two instructors, one designer and one engineer. Arredomotica Created for industrial designers or anyone who is interested in interactive objects for the home. This course focuses on interactive textiles for furniture. After a brief introduction about the history of e-textiles for the home and basic electronic circuits, students start sewing an electronic circuit. By lunch time every student has a complete wearable circuit. In the afternoon we advance the project to include slightly more complex electronics. We conclude with a short presentation about the top 100 interactive textile projects and the most famous e-industrial designers. This workshop is taught by two instructors, one designer and one engineer. It is not necessary to have any knowledge about sewing or electronics to participate. Workshops can be held at your premises or in ours. We have a comfortable classroom in central Florence, that can be easily reached by bus from the main train station or from the airport. The classroom has a maximum of 25 students, and is equipped with an interactive white board. When the workshop is held at your premises, the cost of travel and board and lodging must be added.

Instructors
Our workshops are held by qualified teachers, such as:
Riccardo Marchesi born in Florence, Italy, in 1962. He graduated in electronic engineering at the University of Florence in 1987. In 1987 joined SCOMAR srl, soon becoming Export Sales Manager for flat knitting machines. Starting from 1992 he was also involved in the development of new machines. He is the inventor of two International Patents. In the year 2000 the company started changing its production lines, and Riccardo Marchesi started studying knitted and laminated technical textiles for electromagnetic shielding. Since 2008 he develops interactive textiles. He is the founder of plugandwear.com
Troy Nachtigall has been designing interactive clothing since the age of seven. Troy moved to New York City in 1999 to study Fashion Design and work in Digital Media Technology. After a study abroad program to Florence, he moved there where he continues to invent new ways to dress and present fashion for lines such Calvin Klein, Jean Paul Gaultier Jeans, Hugo Boss, Hermes and Emilio Cavallini. Beyond this, Troy has taken his creative talents into fields with projects including Music Videos for Beyonce, Wardrobe for The Discovery Channel, Publicity for Suntory, Press Office for Stussy and training for Apple. This has also led to teaching courses at the University IUAV of Venice, University Sapienza of Roma and the Institute of European Design.
